Spring!!

Spring is on my mind!!  Despite the fact that I woke up to a snow covered world Sunday morning (what!? this is the desert!  it snows here a couple times a decade!  weird!!), the temperatures (F) have been in the seventies and eighties all week.  It is lovely out!  All the trees have buds swelling, and the plum tree is covered in flowers.  I have seen more bees in my yard than I ever have before!  And I witnessed a hummingbird drinking from my lavender flowers this morning.  The coming of spring is a wonderful and amazing time! 

 

For the past three years, I have been feeding my soil and learning all I can about growing in my climate.  Things are starting to really look different.  I have a feeling it is going to be a good year :)  I have never been so excited for spring!!

. . . lemons . . .

it is time to pick all the lemons of the tree and repot it so it can start putting its energy into growing and flowering.  what to make, what to make?  i think some lemon curd is in order :)

. . . carrots . . .

After a bit of chilly weather, the temperature has warmed back up to the mid-seventies.  Perfect weather for working outside!  So I thinned some carrots this week :)
